Rendezvous and Cruise to Block Island

The PBSA 2023 Rendezvous will kick off in Greenport at Billy's by Bay Thursday evening August 3rd at 5pm.  Those not joining the flotilla on Friday can meet for cocktails and enjoy Billy's Thursday night lobster special ! On Friday, we will cruise to Block Island.

As in recent years, the Rendezvous weekend will kick off at Billys by the Bay in Greenport allowing those not venturing out on the water to get together for a casual dinner and drinks on Thursday evening.

Target start time for Thursday is 1700.  This will be a no reservation event, so get there early to get a table.  We will notify the restaurant in advance so they can group the PBSA folks together as they have done in the past.

The main event will be held on Block Island this year!  Some cruisers visiting Block prefer moorings, while others prefer docking at Paynes or Champlins or New Harbor Boat Basin.  Rather than specify docking arrangements, we are leaving that decision open to the cruisers.  We’ve also decided to make the other plans easier on the cruisers.  In lieu of preparing dishes for a pot luck get together Friday night, we decided to simply plan to meet at the Oar Restaurant with at target time of 1800.  Saturday, for those that would like some beach time can meet at Dinghy Beach for swimming and some frisbee toss on the North East side of the Great Salt Pond.  Others may want to moped around the island or walk and shop around town.  On Saturday evening, if space is available, we’ll meet for dinner at the Landing at Champlins at 1800.  Checkout is typically by 1100 on Sunday, so we can plan accordingly.  Reservations have not yet been made, so these plans are subject to some modification, but we will attempt to do so as we get closer and the facilities open up.
